— Norwood-Norfolk Voters Approve 21.3M Capital Improvement Project Vote —
NORWOOD, NY –
On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, residents of the Norwood-Norfolk Central School District voted to approve the proposed $21.3 million capital improvement project, with 130 votes for and 29 against.
This initiative will address critical repairs and upgrades across the district, enhancing both the interior and exterior school facilities. Planned improvements include modernization of athletic spaces such as the soccer field and track, as well as the replacement of outdated equipment and infrastructures. These upgrades are designed to benefit every member of the NNCS community, fostering a safe, modern, and supportive learning environment for students, staff and families.

This project will be funded through a combination of the district’s reserve funds and bond borrowing, with 98% reimbursement New York State Education Department (NYSED) Building Aid. There will be no additional cost to taxpayers.
Planning and design phases will begin immediately, with construction expected to commence in 2027.
Project Scope of Work:
The Norwood- Norfolk Central School District is proposing a Capital Improvement Project to address aging infrastructure, update occupied spaces and provide enhanced facilities. Major work items are outlined below:
Sitework
- Pavement replacement in various areas
- Flush and clean closed drainage pipe stormwater management system; upgrade as necessary
- Clean existing stormwater structures
- Provide concrete pads at Softball dugouts
- Provide new track and soccer field with bleachers and a scoreboard (Artificial turf will be bid as an alternate to sod for the soccer field)
- Field lighting for the soccer field
Building-Related Items
- Provide air-conditioning to selected areas
- Upgrade electrical service
- Reroofing of 2004 vintage roofs
- Replace operable partitions in elementary classrooms and gymnasium
- Upgrade/renovate bathrooms and locker rooms
- HVAC system upgrades in various spaces
- Replace lighting with LED in various spaces
- Provide wireless clock system
- Restore concrete slabs in the bus garage
- Upgrade finishes in various spaces
- Electrical upgrades in various spaces
