A Note from the Principal...

Welcome HS Flyers & Families,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter to you as Principal of Norwood-Norfolk High School.  I am honored to have the opportunity to lead our fantastic school forward and provide all students in our district the support and encouragement to help them have a successful and enjoyable high school experience.

Norwood-Norfolk has a reputation of academic excellence through the hard work of our students, teachers, and parents.  Norwood-Norfolk is proud to offer numerous challenging academic courses including Honors Courses, College Credit-Bearing Courses, and our Academic Distinction Program.  We offer students the opportunity to participate in hands-on skills/trade-based learning provided by our local Seaway Tech in Norwood.  We offer outstanding opportunities for students with our athletic program and sports teams, as well as artistic outlets through our amazing visual arts, performing arts, and technology electives.  Students have leadership opportunities and chances for social engagement and participation in enjoyable activities through our various clubs and activities that we offer.

At Norwood-Norfolk we believe it is important for our students to be connected to our school through positive relationships and a strong sense of school community and pride.  Students will participate in many school activities such as spirit weeks, pep rallys, and our Flyer Pride Challenge to encourage and promote the pride that we all take in our school. If any student is feeling like they are having trouble connecting we highly encourage them to participate in these events, join the clubs and activities that we offer, and to reach out any time to anyone in our building - our school counselors, teachers, or myself.  We believe that every student can learn and be successful if provided the right supports and opportunities.  Our teachers and staff are committed to providing all students with an appropriate and challenging educational experience in respectful, safe environment that fosters learning and growth.

A crucial part of your child's success is their attendance here at school.  As a parent or guardian it is essential that you have an attitude that every day is important for your child to be in school and ready to learn, and that you share that sense of importance for good attendance with your child.  Additionally, we recognize that parent and family involvement are an integral part of our success.  We encourage you to get involved with our school when opportunities arise.  Additionally, please use the resources provided through our school emails, schooltool parent portal, website information, and social media pages to reach out and communicate at any time.  We are here to work together with you to provide a positive and engaging learning environment for all of our students.
